A sample itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive at Venice Marco Polo for early afternoon and meet your host for the week and transfer to Casa Alfredino to settle in. Arrange ski hire should it be required and then have dinner at La Tirolese in Sottoguda to discuss plans for the next day.
Day 2: After driving to Campitello, we ski the gentle Hexen tour beneath the mighty Sassolungo and across Alpi di Siusi as a warm up.
Day 3: Ski the Panorama tour in Val di Fassa starting from Malga Ciapela. This takes in Buffaure, and then after a bus transfer to Vigo di Fassa we ski below the majestic Cantenaccio, before returning to Campitello by another bus and the runs to Lupo Bianco and Belvedere we return to Arabba and the house.
Day 4: Today we ski from Malga Ciapela again and ski the world famous Sella Ronda. This circles the sella group and we tend to do this in the anti clockwise direction which we feel has nicer runs. If possible we will make some detours in the Valgardena area to ski some of the lovely runs above Selva or Sanat Christina. Or we could ski some of the great steep skiing in Arabba.
Day 5: Today we aim for an active rest day by heading over to the Falcade area where we can ski a little or a lot depending on how badly our bones ache.
Day 6: On the last day of skiing we complete the Giro della Grande Guerra, a tour of equal size to the Sella Ronda and which incorporates the Civetta ski range, then Passo Giau to Lagozuoi and a run down the increadible hidden valley, then a ski tow by horse drawn sledge to Armentarola, back to Arabba via the slopes above Corvara and finally a run down Marmolada to finish the week!
Day 7: Depart Casa Alfredino to return to Venice
Skiers level preferred: Intemediate to advanced. Skiers must be able to ski all reds comfortably and should ideally be OK on black runs. They will be comfortable skiing all day.
