Rock climbing is special in the Dolomites. The rock predominently is (no surprise) Dolomite and presents itself as huge cliffs, with cliffs of 400m being commonplace, but also 800 – 1000m faces being frequent. Indeed the longest routes are of the order of 1600m! With mountains like Civetta, Marmolada, Lagozuoi, Cinque Torre and Sass di Stria surrounding us, there is plenty to go at.
Of course the main style is traditionally protected Alpine climbing, but there are also a growing number of bolt protected routes, both single pitch and multipitch. Indeed, bouldering is also beginning to expand as a pass time.
Val Pettorina is home to the Queen of the Dolomites, Marmolada with famous big wall roues like Don Quixote, the Fish, Vinatzwer-Castiglioni-Messner and Schwalbenschwanz being testpieces for the modern Alpinist. We are the perfect base for these routes, just 10 minutes drive from the walk in.
Here you will find Rock climbing and Via Ferrata routes we have climbed and posted blogs about for your information and to get you excited.
